Shiny, shiny!

The proof copies have landed!

Although I love e-books, there's nothing quite like the moment when you behold the paper version of your book for the very first time.

The Inspiration for Erde...

It was cold, wet, and windy, but the 15th century hotel was warm and welcoming. The hills were big (just as I like 'em!) and wearing their finest white powdered wigs.
Racing waterfalls spilled down the hillsides like frothy ribbons, racing into the sodden valleys below.
Welcome to the Lake District!  <3

Traveller's Rest...

Good morning, campers!

Guess what? I've finally set up a Facebook page where people can talk freely about the Traveler books, without fear of those dreaded spoilers!
If you want to see what Seth looks like, or Vadim, or Forge. If you want to chat about the storyline or anything else, for that matter, click on the link and I'll add you to the group.

The Best Love Letter?

Before I retire for the night, let's round off my Valentine's evening with, what I view as, the greatest love letter in the history of love letter writing. Captain Wentworth's letter to Ann Elliot in Jane Austen's 'Persuasion.'

I can listen no longer in silence. I must speak to you by such means as are within my reach. You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever.
I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago. Dare not say that man forgets sooner than woman, that his love has an earlier death.
I have loved none but you. Unjust I may have been, weak and resentful I have been, but never inconstant. You alone have brought me to Bath. For you alone, I think and plan. Have you not seen this? Can you fail to have understood my wishes? I had not waited even these ten days, could I have read your feelings, as I think you must have penetrated mine.
I can hardly write. I am every instant hearing something which overpowers me. You sink your voice, but I can distinguish the tones of that voice when they would be lost on others.
Too good, too excellent creature! You do us justice, indeed. You do believe that there is true attachment and constancy among men. Believe it to be most fervent, most undeviating, in
F. W.

Happy Valentine's Day...

... or evening. I'm always late, it seems!

So in the spirit of this, the most loved up day of the year, I thought you might like to see the short poem Vadim wrote for Martha last year.
Granted, he's not much of a poet, but it's the thought that counts, right?   Enjoy it if you can--and just be grateful that it's not one of Anselm's, rather suggestive, compositions!

"Down by the river where the rowan tree grows,
I found you there, a-slumbering, so close to death's repose.
A mortal or a princess fair? A foundling of the fae?
Asleep beside the water's edge you stole my heart that day.
I traded heart and gained a soul, and a love without an end
I could not love you any more, my love... my life... my friend."

Here Comes The Summer!

Guess what?

I've booked a cottage on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. That's right. We'll be staying one whole week on this most perfect of islands. Peace. Seclusion. Cut off twice a day from the mainland.

Perfect!

You can expect lots of posts about Vikings this summer.

Hello!

To celebrate the imminent release of 'Ironheart'--for a limited period--I've slashed the price of 'Wolfsbane.'  Because 'Hemlock' (book 1) is currently permafree, this means you can pick up both of first two 'Traveler' books for the paltry sum of just 99 shiny pennies.

The Final Back Cover Blurb...

For those of you who haven't seen it, here's the final back cover blurb for "Ironheart". What do you reckon?
(Many thanks to my subscriber friends for helping me with a few last minute tweaks!)

****************************************************************************
"The fight for Edgeway is over. But, for many, the greatest battle has only just begun...

Anselm is gravely wounded. Perhaps mortally so.

Lost within his fevered dreams, he journeys back to the long-ago summers of his youth, to a time when the bonds of family and friendship had still been unbroken.

Through the eyes of the boy he had been, and those of the man he was to become, Anselm sees the world that might have been—relives a love that should have been—if only the spirits had been kinder.

Isobel. The girl who had stolen his heart and, ultimately, sealed his fate.

As his body lies broken within his bedchamber in Edgeway castle, Anselm's spirit soars free, wandering the lonely, narrow pathway that separates the realm of life from death.

A life that no longer wants him, or the love that never died?

Which will be the strongest lure?"
